Hong Kong Cantonese opera Shen Wo Tong Co., Ltd. (Secretary Department)

Shortly after the establishment of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong in 1953, Jie Fook Tang, Quan Fook Tang, and Shen Cheng Tang proposed to merge, and they became the affairs department under The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong. It was not until 1985 that Hong Kong Cantonese opera Shen Wo Tong Co., Ltd. was formally registered and established, and the affairs department became independent and became one of the affiliated associations of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong. Board of Directors is held every two years. Before the establishment of a limited company, the Ministry of Affairs did not distribute any benefits. Welfare was only introduced after 1985. The main benefit was to pay each member 200 yuan at the end of the year, and each member had to pay a monthly membership fee of 2 yuan. In April 1983, the Affairs Department held a fund-raising benefit performance called the "Celebrities Run Show Cantonese Opera Singing Gala" at the General Assembly Hall, with Huang Yan as the chairman. Later in 1985, the year when the company was established, a fund-raising performance was held for the purpose of purchasing the venue. The properties owned by the affairs department include the current meeting address, which is the fourth floor of Ka Tai Building, 21 Ning Po Street, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon and a rent-collecting unit located at Room 229, Wai Cheng Shopping Centre, Wai Shing Street, Jordan Road, Kowloon. Most of the members of Shenhetang are class officials and theater managers. Currently, the number of members is less than 100. Under the open policy of Chairman Ma Guochao in 2003 (he believes that all those who are willing to develop Cantonese opera and invest in Cantonese opera should be admitted), it is believed that the number of members will increase.
