Hong Kong Cantonese opera Hope Wo Tong Co., Ltd. (Costume and Props Department)

Cantonese opera The Garment Box Workers Organization can be traced back to the Hehetang and Zhichengtang affiliated to Guangzhou The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong a hundred years ago. After the eight-year Anti-Japanese War, the Garment Trade Union was established in Guangzhou. However, the trade union at that time did not hold meetings and did not provide benefits to its members. After The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong was established in 1953, the Costume and Props Department was listed in Li Rongzhao's home on Beihai Street as a temporary office of a department under The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong. By 1961, when Ho Fei-Fan took over as Chairman, the The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong Costume and Props Department was officially established. At that time, there were about 80 to 90 members. In June 1992, the Costume and Props Department was officially registered as Hong Kong Hopewell Hall Co., Ltd. There are currently more than 90 members, and they rent a unit in Parkes Street, Yau Ma Tei as the club's venue.

Costume and Props Department Board of Directors is generated by members. It is held every two years and is now the seventeenth. Board of Directors will send representatives to become The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong directors and participate in various decisions of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong Board of Directors. Whenever The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong gathers and celebrates Hua Guang's Birthday, members of the Service Props can freely report and participate and serve the parent club.
