"Anti-epidemic Fund 3.0" will send another 3.93 million

Entrusted by "Anti-epidemic Fund", the Association distributed checks at Cantonese Opera Academy of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong in late November 2020, distributing a fixed subsidy of HK$5,000 to each eligible Cantonese opera practitioner, benefiting a total of 786 people. During the summer of 2020, a new wave of coronavirus epidemic broke out. On September 28 of the same year, the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council approved an additional allocation of HK$23 million to the "Arts and Culture Sector Subsidy Scheme - Subsidy to Individual Arts Practitioners and Freelancers", and distributed a one-off subsidy of HK$5,000 to individual arts practitioners and freelancers affected by the epidemic, including 786 who have received funding from the "Cantonese opera Industry Support Scheme" practitioners, with a total subsidy amount of 3.93 million. On the morning of the first day when checks were distributed, many Cantonese opera practitioners were already waiting to collect their tickets.
